From the Tales of the Light boards, Emalina LeBlanc's interview:
As an assignment from the Ajah of Justice I chose to interview one of the Lords of the White Tower, regarding his career and his other Love, Ciel Sedai, known and Loved by many.
Svalin Sedai asked me to post my notes here on this board for all to know of the great couple, so i fasten it to this board with a trio of small shiny pins.
Emalina: Good Day Warder Nevelo, you were bonded to the late Ciel Sedai, perhaps if it doesn't trouble you too much you could tell me a bit about you and she...
Nevelo: I suppose I should start from the beginning. It was a very long time ago, it's hard to even remember much of what happened. When Ciel used to recount the story she always started with this though. I was a young man of about 17 when I met her. Her name was Ainsley and she had asked me to help her in hunting. We headed towards White Bridge to find some game, and I left her in the square for a moment to get horses. I must have taken too long; because when I got back with two stallions she had found another partner to assist her. I did not know her well, but I had hunted with her on a few occasions before that and it didn't sit well with me. Ciel always loved to remind me of what I said in my anger, hehe. "Anyone want to hunt? Except for Ainsley." Well, I think that's what got her to chase after me, don't ask me why.
E: I assume this wasn't the only time you met..
N: The next time we met, she had changed her name to Ciel (traded) and we had grown by a few years (level 15ish). I remember having several adventures, like trying to hunt Drakavrea... which was a rush, and sitting in the alleyway of Caemlyn while she blinded me and then sat on my lap. We became good friends; I would often accompany her hunting. We got to know each other pretty well during those long hours.
I remember her being very depressed one day when she had woken up. I tried to console her, to find out what was wrong. To no avail, I could not and she went back to bed. I took it upon myself to write a letter to her, I can't remember what I said, or tried to tell her, but only that I let her know I was there for her if she ever needed someone to talk to. Days went past and I did not see her. I was worried that she would not receive my letter and do something rash, but eventually she came on, much to my relief. She didn't mention the letter, and we continued as if nothing had happened. I didn't want to broach a bad subject and let her have her space. She liked to lead, which I didn't mind for I would follow her anywhere. Anyway, I think we ended up in the Edmonds Field and she was very tired, so we decided to check into the inn there. I don't know what brought it on, I think I mentioned that I'm still there for her, but before she left, she told me something that I will always remember, "You are the thief of my heart," and with a kiss she took her room. I can't describe how I felt, probably something approaching great happiness; I was never good with my words. The next day and for many days to come I would wait with anticipation for her to wake up.
E: It sounds as though you longed to see her, did you marry her?
N: Yes.
E: Could you tell me how a romantic man as you proposed?
N: A week later I proposed marriage to her in the Queen's palace of Caemlyn. I told her so many things that day, how she was everything to me, I wanted to own her, to be owned by her, and I vowed to be her warder, even if Valon would not accept me. She told me that I must wait 3 months (rl) and then ask her again. I waited; all the while I stood with her as her warder.
E: Was Ciel always An Aes Sedai Sir?
N: No She was a wilder at the time, having a bad history with the tower. I didn't expect to ever be bonded to her, but I was content to guard her person anyway. She looked into becoming a wisdom, and I supported her, but did not like it. The Legion of Unity banded together soon afterwards, a new sprout of a clan headed by Cashel. Ciel decided to join the Legion, and in her time there created the sub clan for the channeling wilders who sought to help the Legion. I continued to pursue the training from Valon, during this time, while I trained by myself. A while after Ciel had created her wilder's section the Children of the Light encountered her and caused trouble with her. She ended up warranted again (the first was paid off at the magistrate), and that caused disturbance with Cashel. The legion was not allowed to be warranted by any clan, however, Ciel refused to submit to the White Cloaks. Too much for her pride, she instead retired from the Legion. I was very angry about the whole situation, but in the end, Ciel carried on and made nothing of it to me. She was always a very strong woman...
Perhaps this strength is why she was able to convince the Hall of Sitters to make her a novice (even if she only wore that dress once). Quickly, very quickly, she was raised to Accepted. I took on a new fervor to be admitted to the Valon, I wanted so much to become her warder. It had been a very long time (6 + months) since I had first made my vow, and now I might see it happen in reality. I went through hell getting into Valon, obtaining recommendations from almost every Sitter, and many sisters, including a very large group of Warders and Valon. Even with as much as I worked for Valon, I don't think it was anything compared to what Ciel had to do to become a member of the White Tower, that history she had with the in the past almost forbade letting her have another chance.
E: How long did it take for you became her protector? Tell me about your Career as Gaidin Sir.
N: After tireless years of work (about 1 year since I proposed) I finally was given the cape and honor of a Valon, it was another day I can say I was incredibly happy. Within months (a little under 1 week rl), I obtained the rank of Veteran Guard (rank 5, I think ). Within the same procession that bestowed that honor upon me, gave me the right to be bonded by Ciel, to be her warder, once again, a day which was among the best. She touched my forehead, I fell to the ground, and we were one. I often laughed that she would brag that her big meat hunk couldn't take a tap from her, a small petite figure of a woman. She was so beautiful. My dream had come true and we both were together.
E: You still haven't mentioned the marriage ceremony, where was it held?
N: Not too long, but much over due, we were married within the forgotten groves. I was hers, and she was mine, forever. We had a lot of fun during the years that proceeded, as well as a few rough spots. We would talk in the privacy of a small common room often about things, and we became closer and closer still... until... Until she could no longer... Most of the things we shared were too intimate to tell you. Just to say, many times having her around was all I needed. I think I was the same comfort for her. She had a hard life, and was that strong person that I loved, forever.
E: At times I've heard you called Creator Cow, Where Did the name Creator Cow Come from?
N: Oh, and Creator Cow started on chats. Not really sure how it got to this level. Something about chatting "Cows rule" and having 5 others pick a different animal... Creator cow, Stupid Sheep (snicker), Rabid Rabbits, Foxy Foxes. I can't really remember them all, but Creator Cow was the only one that really survived the test of time.
E: Thank you Warder Lord Nevelo, I long to see you again, for I search for Truth and the Light!
